LOVE Food currently runs regular community lunch clubs in Ide Village Hall on the second Friday of every month and St Thomas Parish Church Hall on the 4th Thursday of every month 12.30-1.30pm (except for school holidays). You can book in advance via Eventbrite.

We serve a two or three-course meal focusing on seasonal fruit and vegetables and wholefoods, made from surplus produce donated by Exeter Food Action and Shillingford Organics. All the food we make is vegan and we try to use as much local and organic produce as we can.

We make delicious meals from ingredients that would have gone to waste. Our menu changes every month but previous dishes include: courgette, pea and mint soup; roasted broccoli and squash salad; beetroot dip; and damson frangipane tart. If you can’t make it to the lunch club you can order a takeaway in advance, or buy some leftovers.

The lunch club is run on a pay what you can basis. Our suggested donation for those who can afford it is £5-10 for the whole meal. This income helps us cover our costs including ingredients, rent, insurance, publicity, etc. and subsidises the meal for others. Our lunch club is run by a team of volunteers and we are always looking for extra volunteers to help out.
