LOVE Food CIC is a new community-based organisation that organises activities to increase access to, and raise awareness of the benefits of, Local, Organic, Vegan, Ethical Food for animals, health and the environment. We run lunch clubs, cookery classes, and other food projects.

It's been a busy day for the @lovefoodcic team today, so busy we all forgot to take many photos! I have been speaking and facilitating about food waste and all things sustainable food at the great Exeter Connect @exetercommunity Big Exeter Feast conference today @exetercommunitycentre. Our cookery tutors @the_crafty_cook_cic and @ombexeter have been running community cookery sessions at Newcourt Community Centre and St Thomas Parish Church Hall, with the leftover soup used for St Thomas Warm Space. Home grown stuffed lemon squash, grown from swapped seeds! I had some leftover mushroom risotto, so just cut the squash in half, scooped out seeds, put in risotto, and roasted in the air fryer for about 20 mins. Even after roasting the skin was too tough to eat, so I just ate the flesh. Served with cannellini beans in quick tomato sauce and kale. #veganfood #seasonalveg #homegrown #veganorganic #instantpot

Photos do not do this justice. Cauliflower, leek, potato and pear soup, and mango and yoghurt dessert. All made from fruit and veg which was well past it's best, as I haven't been able to cook properly for a while, so have lots of things to use up. A good blender is, I think, one of the most useful pieces of equipment you need to avoid food waste. I also rescued some sourdough bread that had gone very hard. Just sprinkle with water and heat for 5-10 mins in the oven or air fryer. #lovefoodhatewaste #foodwaste #foodrescue #seasonalveg #veganfood
